Comments about how this baby and other premature babies will grow up with "physical/cognitive handicaps" are simply uneducated and ignorant guesses. The capabilities of modern NICU facilities are phenomenal. Having experienced this as a parent of preemies, I can attest to the fact that the "hot shot" doctors/nurses that saved this child are performing modern day miracles. This baby has excellent chances of growing up as healthy as any other full term baby. Any suggestion that saving this child was not worth it due to cost, is heartless, insensitive, and obviously not the words of a loving parent.
