Nothing wrong with that plumbing, that's what it takes to plumb an inground pool with a couple drains, a skimmer, filters, feedwater and back-flushing. Kudos to the guy for making it compact, instead of spreading it over half the yard.
They're not daubing, the lines are painted by a truck mounted pair of spray nozzles, while moving quite rapidly. I'm surprised they had time to react and stop the paint. They don't have the tools to clean up dead critters.
Alex, the web was built by geeks, for geeks, of geek interest material. BUT, it's matured and become mainstream by attracting the "public". Neatorama is one of the main attractions for that "public", just because it isn't exclusively geek oriented material.
I bought a Poinsettia from a hospital benefit holiday craft show in NJ. The seller told me that field grown plants will last, whereas hothouse grown will not. I didn't believe him, but that plant lived on the kitchen window sill for years, with no special treatment.
