It's really kind of sickening, as a mother of a daughter who grew up in the eighties, to think that NBC would produce a show that was intentionally so negative to more than half of their viewers at the time.
Once she was old enough, I let my daughter watch what she wanted, but I told her when she was little that whoever created this show had very mean feelings toward women and she chose not to watch it.
Smurfette was always wreaking havoc through either her manipulation or her inaction. She was a terrible role model...and not even a real smurf. I don't get how anyone can know this about the show and accept it.
