I stand by my original thought when I first found this.
Nintendo should find the guys who did this and pay them the average cost for developing DLC for the Wii, then release it.
This game is a ton of fun. With a few more tweaks, this could be a big seller. Imagine replaying all the 2D Mario games with a SSB array of characters. Awesome.
Your training shows Alex. It's a myth that shotguns have to be aimed. At the effective range of shotguns, the spread is still fairly small. Small spread is what makes them devastating, and aiming necessary. Using 00 buckshot, seemingly the choice for defensive rounds, the spread at 30 feet is around 10 inches. Take a look at the following link for some interesting info. The site also has other "tests" that are interesting and usually entertaining.
To those saying they will "yank" the gun out of the holster, give it a try sometime. It's a lot harder to do than you think. I'd say it's almost impossible to grab a gun out of a retention holster on first try. A fight may ensue for the gun, but I highly doubt its coming out in one snatch.
