It has been proven that within one drought season a generation of birds on the Galapagos Islands evolved a change in its beak size for a different seed/pod diet. Who is to say that plants have less evolution changing capability, or even enough of a possibility for change? The fact that we've noticed a color change in the Sundew seems to indicate a fantastic evolutionary rate change.
