Didn't Lord Dunsany write a short story about a man in China who was suprised to see to carriages with men in tuxedoes rush past? I may be remembering this wrong.

Acedia - I saw a similar clip, perhaps the same one, in the documentary "The Human Face" hosted by John Cleese.

My understanding was that it is extremely unlikely that the giant has anything to do with ancient pagans, or is ancient at all. Medieval writings about the area mention a hill next to the giant, but not the giant. It was probably made during the civil war, possibly as a parody of Cromwell. Of course, no one can convince the "pagans" of this.

I don't particularly care for baseball, but this is amazing. What a genius way to represent the information. The amount on info conveyed clearly is stunning. Very elegant.

I think anything parabolic should work.
