Yebbut what's the chance of that flimsy metal strap holding the table steady?

Kalel - you'd need a good strong tether.

My wife doesn't like chocolate or shopping.
You can guess why I married her!

Smashing - I'd love a polygonal hutch to shove the kids in. Hardly a "unique function", though.

"...accurate to within 100m. You can't do that by chance."
Well, there's the giveaway. You certainly couldn't do it by measurement in those days.

Despite being part of the EU, we seem to have different rules to Germany. I can't see the fire regulations in the UK ever allowing a hotel to do this. We'd have enough trouble with the camp-fire, but flammable beds?

My mum worked in London during the war and for some years after - she remembers the pea-souper fogs. She said you couldn't see your hand in front of your face and that bus drivers had to have someone hanging out of the window following the kerb.
She also remembers a particularly cold winter just after the war when pigeons were dying on the wing and just falling out of the sky at you.

I had a look through the rest of her photos - they're most unimpressive. Technically they're OK, but they don't seem to have any reason to exist.

I love Tron - and my kids like it, too. Must have a root in the Lego box and see what I can come up with.
I wonder what the remake of Tron will be like - at first glance it appears to have missed the point and headed towards "improving" the graphics. Half the charm of the old film was that the graphics were clean and simple. In general remakes suck - I have little doubt this will differ.

Would look a bit silly in the winter, though, so I've got a while.
