Can't sell Hershey as chocolate in the UK, mostly 'cos it ain't chocolate. I did see someone was suggesting it was all publicity stunt like Coke/NewCoke, fishing for a "Bring back proper eggs" campaign. Serve 'em right if it doesn't happen and people just vote with their wallets and buy something nicer/cheaper/better.
Cadbury's Creme Eggs have taken a bit of a nose-dive in the UK this Easter. Kraft have stopped using anything even remotely resembling chocolate and are selling them in fives. Everyone knows chocolate eggs are supposed to be made from chocolate, and eggs (at least in the UK) generally come in half-dozens. Kraft claim they're selling well, but the only shopkeeper I know says she's having trouble shifting them.
I'm proud to say that until now I'd never seen aerosol cheese. If we have such a thing in the UK it's kept very quiet and out of the sight of ordinary decent people.
Now there's a thought. Would you get away with dazzle-pattern body paint? Disrujptive patterns which make it hard for your opponent to see your outline and what your limbs are doing would be a giggle. I guess someone woujld complain. I keep meaning to paint my van like that, but ICBA.
Yeah - I hate that phrase. This is a society - anyone who thinks they are beyond the judgement of those around them is outside society. Of course, some would say that's exactly what they want, but I'll bet they want the benefits of society - like a hand thousand pounds to buy things with.
Difficult to be sure, what with stroboscopic effects and all, but that drill seemed to be turning anti-clockwise. Still scary, but not /quite/ so scary.
Provided the water level doesn't rise, the load on the aqueduct can only be the volume of water contained in it, or rather, the volume that would be there if the hole made by the boat were filled in. The weight of the boat exactly replaces the weight of water displaced, so it cancels out. This doesn't work if... a) The boat is rubbing along the bottom. If it ain't afloat then all bets are off. b) The water level rises. It's a canal, so the sections between locks have a finite volume. Displacing some by dropping a boat in it will cause the level to rise locally until it can flow away - probably over a weir somewhere downstream.
