I feel his pain, but I transferred all of my floppies years ago when we got our first computer where the floppy was the second drive after the CD-ROM.

Cool- but you can do this in a plain brown paper bag or other things- you don't need the 'fancy stuff' as far as I can tell. (http://www.ehow.com/how_6736015_boil-water-paper-bag.html)

Venom vs. poison. I am really tired of this. All venoms and toxins are poisons. Venom describes a poison that is injected, toxin describes a natural poison, but they are all forms of poisons. A spider or snake is indeed venomous, but that does not mean that using the more generic term 'poisonous' is wrong.

For the music, I am torn between "Ride of the Valkyries" and the theme from "Chariots of Fire" depending on if it is coming in for an attack.

Not only the elderly, anyone with limited range of motion or many physical disabilities benefits from things like this. You can find a lot of other unusual but helpful items on sites like pattersonmedical dot com.

Saw it and the response video and am concerned. The students are legitimately worried that the current education system, based as it is on a very old model, will not meet their needs, not right now and not those of their future.
The faculty response was basically that we will keep doing the same old things we have always done and hope it works for this generation.
I worry that the American education model is outdated and broken, and the most common answer seems to be to require more time and money, then act surprised when it really does not work.
I think the scariest part is that more and more, the students expect the teacher to work harder to teach, and the teachers expect the students to work harder to learn- and both are going to be disappointed.

If there is even a faint chance it is venomous I would go carefully. With a couple long sticks, I could immobilize the body by the head, then try to work the can off- but there is probably something acting like a flap or trap keeping it there. If this failed, it should not be too hard to 'herd' into a bucket or bag that I could secure- just in case the can came off prematurely- and take it to someone who could help.
If it was around here, I would know it is not venomous so would just pick the poor thing up, pry the flap or whatever off, and let us both go on our way.
