Anyone who's watched Al-Jazeera knows that it's actually a very good news channel that provides balanced coverage. It does show graphic coverage of events, which I think startles those in the US who are accustomed to Paris Hilton being the lead news story.
Anyone who's curious might enjoy the documentary Control Room, in which a US Marine in public relations tries to balance his job (providing spin) with counter viewpoints, including those of Al-Jazeera news correspondents. That marine has since left the service and is employed by Al-Jazeera.
I originally read about this in wired (http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/16-03/ff_seacowboys?currentPage=all) . The Washington Times failed to mention that one of the salvage guys died during the recovery of the cargo ship. That makes it all the more tragic and sad.
You might want to change this to -alleged- thief to protect yourself from allegations of libel. To be fair: this might not be the thief-- he could've bought it off craigslist unaware that it was stolen merchandise...
