Not only did they hang young Mr. Granger, they also executed his several animal "friends" - including a Cow and two Calves, several Sheep, two Goats, a Mare(!), and, most relevant to today, a Turkey.
Great point about the pix - they'd be worth a fortune. I wonder what folks are thinking. The Colonel could have taken the photos and kept them himself - there's no downside.
Another show that employed the "Evil Twin" on many occasions was Get Smart - either through disguises, masks or plastic surgery, each of the main characters (Max, 99 & The Chief) has at least two evil "doppelgängers". Even most of the recurring characters had at least one: Larrabee, The Admiral, Agent 13, even producer Leonard Stern's Aunt Rose, who makes a handful of cameos in the series, has one.
In Get Smart's defense, it is a show about spies, so disguises and such are a little less far-fetched than in the old west or on a tropical island...
