In a related story, roller coasters in Britain are now banned from rolling. Patrons will enter the coaster's cars, sit for 1.5-2 minutes whilst having air blown at them from an industrial strength fan. "Riders" will be allowed to throw their arms up in the air and shriek unless complaints are lodged by other guests. Authorities say that banning movement on roller coasters may possibly save literally 1-2 lives over the next quarter century.

I find the sense of jealousy and class warfare here alarming. The accumulated wealth of others has not driven our financial problems. It has been the chicanery of elected officials and deceptive business practices, namely Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, that have caused a deep recession and faltering recovery. For decades our nation and subsidiary states have spent more than they've taken in through taxes. Now the bill is coming due. Buckle up.

The seniors don't want their entitlements cut. The poor don't want their entitlements cut. The sick don't want their entitlements cut. Politicians want to keep getting re-elected. A dangerous mix.

America is in decline because of the left-wing influences that have dragged her down. First, I cite schools, where American students do poorly in math, but are number one in self-esteem (1). We've removed rote learning from the classroom and replaced it with "concept-based" garbage where feeling good about your answer matters more than getting it right. Secondly, I cite our economy, where we've run the Ponzi scheme of Social Security straight into the ground. We've borrowed our way into a $14 trillion deficit (2) that our children and grandchildren will have to pay off. Our elected leaders (of both parties) have been handing out lollypops and rainbows instead of hard fiscal truths for decades and now those on the left accuse conservatives of being heartless bigots for wanting to right the ship.

Oh, well. It was a fun ride while it lasted.

These steps were featured in a season 1 episode of Magnum P.I. There were some baddies encamped in a nearby building and Thomas used the steps to gain the high ground and get the drop on them!

The note about 180 times more water being transported daily is a red herring. Water is, um, a fluid and thus easily transmitted through pipes without having to worry about "crashes" or "traffic jams". Unless the Brits plan to take the final step in their crusade against palatable cuisine and liquify all of their foodstuffs. In which case this underground tube plan becomes genius!

I believe that Jason's response to all such criticism would be well-considered and deeply thought out. He would analyze the arguments made for and against his position and reply to his opponents, "LALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

That's f'ed up. I don't think I'd categorize it as a "prank" so much as animal cruelty. That fat broad oughta be dropped into a dumpster for 15 hours as penance.

You're looking through the window into the Nanny State, where an all-powerful, all-loving government tells its citizens what they can and cannot do because the ruling class just knows better than the ignorant hoi-polloi.
