I think you should mention Smoky the yorkie became` a war dog on Luzon when she saved 40 US Warplanes and 250 groundcrewmen from possible desruction by pulling a string with vital phone lines attached through a 70 feet long and 8" high culvert under the only taxiway protecting the planes. The planes to be operational would have had to be moved to along the airstrip that the enemy was bombing everyday. Men would have had to dig up the culvert by hand to lay the wires, a three day task.
