The horroe of the perceived injustice of a rubber head which someone on set thought looked a bit like GWB ? Oh no! Your country really is fragile if this causes ructions.

Just popping by from England to heap opprobrium on
. If the Queen signed my kids absence note I'd say that was "cool" and I'm not in any way a royalist. If you guys don't lighten up you are going to break something, probably a country.

Yeah but on the flip side : when I travelled from England to New York I was disappointed to find that everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Not at all like the movies!

I'm pretty sure that Moe Szyslak is based on comedian Rich Hall. This has been mentioned many times and is in the wiki entry for the origing of the character. He was a friend of the writers at the time.
Watch a clip of Rich Hall and you'll notice the extreme resemblance.
It's certainly more plausible than Al Pacino!

Im surprised nobody pointed out the obvious english issue. With my limited Spanish / French I can certainly decipher "monde" as world but Lez? I have no knowledge of that.
Now what does Lez mean on the Internet ? Hmmm...
So this ... "World of Lez "?
Nope I got nothing :-|

So, If I mention the rampant craziness and fear on the streets I'm met with blank stares. It's invisible.
Sure we have that stuff elsewhere, but not many places can match that Mad Max vibe. The Sublimated tension, the castigation of failures, the raw flaming hatred across the weirdly narrow political spectrum.
