@jim, most factories where like that because they used to run from a single power source, for example a steam engine or water wheel. that stopped when electric motors became cheap and powerfull enough.
i wonder why they went to the trouble of faking it, i mean you will find out in the first 20 min. of use annyway. Why all the smoke and mirrors, just use a real brick instead :)
