I thought this story was really sad. What is wrong with this country sometimes? How could a thing like this happen? The worst part is that this still going on today. Who knows how much their doing it at Gitmo? Defectors and innocents being held without trial...what does our country stand for?
Isn't our species superior to Neanderthals? Last time I checked, they died out, we are still here and most evidence points to the fact that we didn't kill them, they died of their own accord. Some claim Neanderthals are smarter because of their larger brains, but modern humans have smaller brains than our ancestors and tests indicate that our intelligence goes up with every generation.
The main problem with the airlines is that we don't let these great international carriers come in and compete with US companies domestically, Singapore Airlines, Aer Lingus, Aer France, these are all great airlines, but that can't take you from NYC to Chicago. Why? Let them come in and compete. If we are going to have a free trade system, let them compete, otherwise, the Government needs to take over the airlines.
they aren't bitching about the flights being repaired, I don't think anyone would argue with that, but its the way it was done. Canceling 3000 flights in 3 days? C'mon, why couldn't have these repairs been done over months? AA knew there was a problem, its not like this just crept up on them. Very poor management at work here.
I really agree with what your saying about how the Indian culture reveres the "deformed." That was my first thought as well and I think its really great. In the west, children with untreatable deformed features are treated as monsters many times. We ccould learn a lot from India.

I know I'd fire an employee if I found out he was on dimatap or nyquil. Imagine if I called him up at night and he was too drowzy from the cold medicine to function? Pandemonium!
JDJK, in this case, the mary jane was just as legal as alcohol. I really don't get this, the guy had a prescription and pot affects you less than pills like ambien, oxycotin and many other so called "legal" drugs. I hope this country wakes up soon and legalizes marijuana. The only reason its illegal is because it was popular with black people and racism was the thing to do at the time.
