I'd go and donate - but I'm not allowed to. I'm diabetic (type 1) and have to take shots of insuline. But people who are diabetic with type 2 (overweight) are allowed to donate their blood?? That's the point I don't understand. Many of those take medicaments such as pills, etc. and we with type 1 only insuline, but still we can't donate??
Btw, has anybody noticed that the article says that "the spiders and termites managed to escape when the heating elements exploded and opened the lids to their tanks"?
Sounds like those animals were kept in different tanks and that the heating elements exploded all at the same time? Doesn't sound logically.
TOM's right. This story is a hoax. Germany has a famous tabloid. If this tabloid has not reported on that story, then it has been made up by the UK tabloid. Although BILD (the German tabloid) has been known to report hoaxes, too ...
About one year ago I suddenly received over 120 emails in ONE day in my email box. Mind you, I don't have a hotmail account ... the interesting thing was that those emails dated from back then as 2001!? I discovered that they ranged from April 2001 up to June 2002. Most of them I had received and read back then, but some emails popped up which I never received back then. Was quite a feast, reading all them again and the new ones, too.
One of those never read emails was from a friend I had lost contact with. I emailed her in 2006, saying that I just had received her email from 2002. She was like "WTF?" Me too.
Weird ... there's something wrong with the pictures. The background clearly shows a building that is located IN BERLIN, in the northeast of Germany, while that zoo is located in the southwest of Germany?? I'm pretty sure that those pictures were taken in Berlin, because I live there, and pass that building in the background many times a week.
FIRST: this is NOT photoshopped! This Zorse actually exists - it's living in a safari park in Germany. Whoever is fluent in German is welcome to check out this link: http://www.safaripark-stukenbrock.de/
There's an article about the zorse on the homepage of the safari park which states at the end of it: "Most known Zorses have throughout Zebra stripes. Little "Eclyse" is with her looks even among other Zorses unique - she's a remarkable beauty."
Those Dickmanns aren't anything like marshmallows! I live in Germany but spent also almost 2 years in Canada - and I know what marshmallows are like. Texture's the same, perhaps lighter, but the taste is definitely different from that of marshmallows. Sweeter, I'd say. And yep, should we call them Nigger Kisses?? No - I prefer in that case "Dickmanns" .. ;-)
What if someone would have gotten hurt during that reckless driving? What if that little boy I saw had been hit? What if the soldiers would not have slowed down their humvee before reaching the end of a traffic jam or intersection?
But somehow war brings out weird behaviour in involved soldiers.. I'm sure that other countries have had soldiers who did not behave respectful of the besieged people. Right?

And: geckos don't feast on rotten bodies.
