"Companion animals" bugs me as well, so does the use of "feline" instead of cat. But, that being said, this little commercial made me pet my two shelter rescues and tell them I'm glad they are with me.
When I was growing up, the teardrop tattoo meant that the wearer's friend or family member had been killed in a gang fight. I grew up in the Mid-Atlantic area, was this just a geographic interpretation? I never heard that it had anything to do with being in jail.
Well, I just turned 40, with no kids... I guess I better get on that whole "being fat and bitchy and alcoholic" thing in time for next Christmas when I'm officially a 40-something.
This restaurant is ridiculous, I used to live in Chandler. They keep an ambulance parked out front at all times and the waitresses are dressed as nurses. When I lived there, the restaurant was being sued by a group of nurses because they objected to having waitresses dressed up like them, but definitely not obeying the first rule of "do no harm". I believe the guy that owns it is the one that opened Pink Taco as well, which also was not without controversy.
I have noticed that I often see the same things posted here, at Presurfer and Nothing About Arbroath, as well as some stuff from Boing Boing. They are usually all good things, so it's easy to see why people would repost all over the internets. Still, I guess there's enough variety that I still check all four on a daily basis.
Sometimes I wish we just had People Chow, because I get tired of figuring out what I want to eat. My cats don't seem to mind eating the same thing all day every day.
I live on the Upper West Side and there are a few people that have leash-trained their cats. I've only seen women, so I guess not the real estate fellow, but there is a guy who frequents my grocery that has trained his cat to sit on his head. Come to think of it, that cat might be on a leash as well. I try not to stare. Attention only encourages these sorts of things.
