I knew someone in school whose parents promised him $1000 for every 100% he got in an exam, and nothing for anything under.
Not sure that he ever got 100% on anything, but he studied hard, scored consistently high marks and (I've heard) has become very successful in his chosen field.

Ok, so I know that scientists don't know exactly why we yawn, but one of the theory's about it being related to oxygen intake sounds pretty good to me. I mean, when you're tired your breathing becomes more shallow so you're getting less oxygen, and so you yawn. In a stuffy room full of people there's less oxygen and people start yawning (and feeling tired, but I think they're all linked). If you feel like you're going to yawn, a couple of deep breaths will stop the yawn from coming.
That makes sense to me.
But when you're looking at contagious yawning, wouldn't everyone be in the same room? And therefore affected by the same oxygen levels? It's not that I don't think contagious yawning exists, I'm just not sure I trust experiements where they heven't made mention of oxygen levels, and/or monitored the breathing rates of all involved.
Of course, I could be totally wrong :)

I love horror flicks too (to the point that before we do to the video store I get 'the talk' about not hiring anything with zombies or ghosts - never works)
My favourite movie of all time: Braindead - aka Dead Alive, as mentioned before - IT IS LOVE. This has been my favourite movie for YEARS (I'm from NZ, where Peter Jackson is from and so it was more widely available than in the rest of the world). You have to have to have to see it. Lets just say that after Braindead I was thoroughly disappointed in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings because I know the genius that he is capable of, and LOTR just wasn't it.
My least favourite: Killer Clowns from Outer Space. They turn people into giant coloured pears and suck their, like, essence or whatever out through straws. May not be as bad if you're expecting it to be bad, but on the night of my birthday sleepover all those years ago, we were expecting a little more.
Watch Braindead. Love Braindead. BEST MOVIE EVER EVER!!
