From his myspace site ( www.myspace.com/jayenvarma ) (pl google),its seen that he is the Fastest PERCUSSIVE Bass player and not Fastest Bass player (even though both have same or slightly different meaning)..Can edit the title description if needed.... And there it also reads that he has learned the indian Percussion instruments like Tabla. That could be the reason why he plays it like tabla. And there are also few songs in myspace in which he plays good grooves with clear notes without slapping... Song 'Good times'..
