Interesting story. It reminds me of the old friend I had who lived in an apartment above Sigmund Freud's house. I loved listening to his stories.
This man had lived quite a life...considering he was a small-town Illinois farmer.

You could always install a solid door stop...or as I like to call them, "A convenient toe remover."

It was definitely an experience. I was in high school at the time (a Sophomore). A bunch of us got together at a friend's house and watched it. I think about that from time-to-time because I live in that house now.
29 years later...isn't it interesting that it's only been in the last couple of years that we've gotten comfortable with the "crying over a chicken" jokes? :-)

I ran into my high school history teacher tonight. He's a 94 year old WWII veteran. Learning history from him was an honor.
I told him about the video and he told me that he had met some veterans in his younger days and heard the yell himself. It's amazing to have someone around who had that kind of life experience.

I always appreciated the quote from Ken Burns' Civil War documentary about the rebel yell. I found this reference to that quote in Wikipedia:
Anecdotes from former Union Soldiers described the yell with reference to "a peculiar corkscrew sensation that went up your spine when you heard it" along with a claim that "if you claim you heard it and weren't scared that means you never heard it."

There was General Grievous' Wheel Bike, but does that count since it's not from the original series? ;-)

Now I'm thinking about how cool it would be to have $250. :-)
