Nothing exciting. He's friends with a former Governor of Idaho, and was present at a park dedication by my dad's house. He's several inches over 6' tall, and barrel-chested. White-haired, but still totally recognizable as Batman.

I am totally in favor of releasing lions onto the baseball field. I used to work at a basketball arena, and was then hired to do the same job at a baseball stadium. I was offered a job at a football stadium too, but they couldn't pay nearly enough money to make me sit through that. ZOMG, baseball is a boring game! And I held that job for 3 years, sitting through every. single. home game. I absolutely knew what was going on, and none of it was interesting.

I was annoyed that, after all the build-up toward Luke's lightsaber as some holy relic, the big reveal was someone flicking it on like a flashlight. "Yep, it works." and then putting it away. TFA was better than any of the prequels, and better than RotJ, but it missed out in so many ways...

Three minutes is a LONG time for a sword fight, and the fighters would have to hear the ref before they can stop when he says something. I know from experience that it's hard to make out much in a steel helm with lots of clattering metal and heavy breathing.

I'm surprised the ref doesn't even have a big stick to carry. That's how marshals in the SCA handle fighters. You need to be able to get their attention without putting your squishy skull in swinging range. As it happens, there is already a big pool of trained swordfighters here, and some of them are natural champions who would kick ass at this.

Those stitches are crappy and will leave an ugly scar. If they're going to hack their own flesh, you'd think they could find some help with a tiny bit of medical skill.

If a person has a life-threatening allergy, it's always going to come down to themselves being responsible for watching their exposure. It's beyond ridiculous to demand that an entire neighborhood of partying, and likely drunk adults, accommodate your anonymous little snowflake out of the hundreds of kids over the night. Even having posted those absurd, passive-aggressive notes, Mystery Parent would be an idiot to assume that their child is not going to get nuts in their candy, so what was accomplished? The parent will still have to check and look at everything, but is also an asshole.

One thing I never hear mentioned is that West is a huge guy! He must be close to 6'5", and barrel-chested. He's bulked up a bit since his Batman days.

I came to the same conclusion for a different reason. Jesse gave his alibi, including, "Dad wasn't on the couch." Why would he say that, instead of assuming Dad was in his own bed? I figured Jesse had been listening to the others, and came in with his story, tailored to cast suspicion onto his dad.
