Most of the food I end up throwing away is because it is going south >before I get it home from the store<. Milk, bread and meat should not go bad within a few days of getting it home. (I have a new fridge with thermometers, so I know its not MY kitchen thats the problem.)

I think some stores are cutting back on their refrigeration a few degrees to save money or employees are just poorly handling items.

Youtube is already a perfect example: 1% interesting with possibilites and the rest crap.

CNN and other news organizations have been begging for years for 'user-generated content' with little to nothing to show for it.

The bottom line is that few people have the time, resources or talent to pull it off. Having done a number of short film projects with my son for school, I can tell you that it is a LOT of work and several of his classmates have thrown in the towel when they found out just how un-easy it is to make a film...

$80Billion spent and then we'll get another 200Billion emails a year promising us untold riches if we'll just send a check to cover the administration of secret funds or lottery winnings being smuggled out of Nigeria.

Brilliant!!!

Having grown up in Columbus, Ohio.... I just can't hold myself in at the number of jokes available for a conference studying Neanderthals being held in Columbus.....

It only looks crowded in pictures like that.
If you look at those objects in the pic, they'd have to be thousands of times larger than ANYTHING ever launched into space.

In reality if you shrank each dot down to actual size, you wouldn't see anything there at all.

The total area of the LowEarthOrbit 'sphere' encompasses many hundreds of millions of cubic miles and there is MUCH more room there than the photo would lead you to believe.....

I play alto and tenor sax and have only tried playing a bari a few times.

Can only imagine that the contrabass is like trying to blow a 6" pipe. Wayyyy too much for me....

There was an article on bass and contrabass saxes in the March/April 2008 'Saxophone Journal' magazine. Guy from Brazil had a Stainer Low B Contrabass custom built that will go below 65Hz - essentially below human hearing into the subsonic range..

They have a way to go....

I have a buddy with a GM Saturn hybrid - it's now on it's THIRD battery pack (thankfully under warranty - that would be about $3k-$4k!) For a 'green' car it sucks, he only gets a bit over 25mpg in the city, whereas my huge Expedition SUV gets 21mpg.

He's going to get rid of it before it goes out of warranty...

Estimates (they can't pin down the real numbers) are that 11-14% of the entire prison population are illegals.

That's enough to overflow the Super Bowl or a create a good-sized town of 100,000. Thats tens of millions out of our taxes that were paying to house them, too.

....so that kinda messes with the numbers, doesn't it??

...more likely one of her employees (or ex-employees) was running a side business... receiving the packages and taking them out to the trunks of their car.

They busted a whole chef staff here at a local Florida Ruby Tuesdays last year for doing the same thing... know that "pick up curb service" they advertised??? These guys were doing more than stepping out the side door with food!!!

The three-year-olds were completely honest???

Bull.... I've seen two-year-olds lie when they thought they were in trouble or they thought they could get another cookie/candy.

Pets, too. Not just our previous cats, but our current bunny can lie like a rug if he thinks he can get another treat out of you.

Brits have been taking these type of photos for over 100 years.

Go rent the neat little Brit film "Fairy Tale: A True Story" (1995)
http://imdb.com/title/tt0119095/

Peter O'Toole plays Arthur Conan Doyle, Harvey Keitel plays Harry Houdini; a look into the famous 1900's 'fairy photos' taken by some little girls in the English countryside.

(the real girls later admitted in their old age they faked the photos with cardboard cutouts...)
