Everyone forgets that it was known that both Hiroshima and Nagasaki (as well as the alternate targets) contained hundreds of American POWs. The Japanese put POWs in all their cities to try to keep the US bombers from destroying their war factories.

And the US was not the only side attempting intercontinental devestation. The Japanese had a program of launching large balloons with bombs (leading towards sending biological weapons) towards the US. Many landed in the western US and Canada; one family of picnicers was killed and the existence of the balloon bombs was kept classified for decades after the war....

New term for a submarine using noisy supercavitation to go fast: TORPEDO/ROCKET TARGET.

Submarines survive by being a quiet hole in the water, not by announcing "I'm right here... shoot me...shoot me!!!!"

We already have international currencies: GOLD AND PRECIOUS METAL BARS.

Governments have been shuttling around pallets of gold bars for millenia to pay other countries bills.

'International currencies' are just a code word for the next thing they really want: GLOBAL TAXES.

What utter BS..... you design a ship around a WORKING engine as function demands it.

His design is no better than a 12-year-old putting together parts from several plastic models around an imaginary power source. Instead of stealing the central idea from Trek he could just have easily said 'oh here is a ship that would work with a ZPM and naquda generator' from Stargate at a comic-con.

You use REAL science to design ship, Dr. Physicist, not rainbows and fairy-dust.

Now that we've seen what Lucas did with Chapters 1, 2 and 3, it's pretty obvious that he had some major behind-the-scenes help with the original Chapters 4, 5 and 6.

We'll probably never know who was the real 'man behind the curtain'.....

Then again its only people who have lots and lots to eat and a house and a car and air conditioning and stuff who worry about other people keeping their society 'unique'....

We're only 3 or 4 generations away from a time when EVERYONE scrambled 16 hours a day 7 days a week to eat by scratching in the dirt or hunting in the forest with lifespans that rarely exceeded 35 or 40 years.

...we forget that a lot....

This is why I didn't get into newspapers or TV after college... standard practice in those industries is that you can't get a job unless you intern, basically becoming an unpaid slave for a couple of years.

What kind of employees are you going to get who can afford to work free? Well-off cupcakes whose Mommys and Daddys can pay their bills for 2 years have an instant in while anyone who has to scramble to pay the rent is locked out of even getting started.

That's why you have the type of people who dominate the press today....

You city kids.... I grew up on a farm half-a-century ago and we had chickens who could count.

If you took some of the eggs they had in the nests, they would lay exactly that same number back again.

It was obvious they were counting.

Because she's too busy to just PULL OFF THE FRICKIN' ROAD....

(That baby's neck will snap like a twig if she has a fender-bender, too.)

It won't take long for the lawyers to solve this... they'll get some 'friendly' judge to write a ruling that the contracts are held 'in good faith' and that will be that.

But the economic downturn is hitting them hard, too....
Lets just say I know someone who recently met with a US developer who has been working over there. When asked about all those magnificent new buildings over there, he said, "Yeah, but it's like a 'Night of the Living Dead' film over there.... all those pretty buildings are EMPTY SHELLS with no tenants and it's a ghost town with NO activity."

The contractors are fleeing in droves, leaving everything behind.
