Unfortunately for facebook, industry standard and law are two entirely different things. I love how their statements always pretend privacy laws don't exist.
Nearly the entire audience of this show is very young children in a heterosexual family (you know, because of the logistics involved). I have nothing against same-sex marriage at all, but why effectively bring it up and create confusion and awkward conversations before a child has formed the emotional maturity needed to really understand this level of relationship? Just seems unnecessary to me I guess, because it's not going to really get the point you want across if it can't be understood.
Like the rest of us have, they can just use their imaginations on that relationship when they get older. ;)
Aside from the fact that "hipster" is a half-assed overused label no better than "emo", that's not even remotely close to what is typically considered hipster. That's just someone dressed in random crap for the hell of it.
Agree with the previous poster, bi-weekly arguably shouldn't even mean fortnightly, and fortnight was largely dropped from common american english, so get over it. The real problem with biweekly and biannually is that they are both used for "twice per" and "every other" - so much so that some dictionaries now list both (google it). *grumble*
Also, any good-spirited brit knows at heart that they have no room to talk - with the UK's dense and varied dialects, everyone has some colloquialism that's "wrong".
Not really getting it I guess. The technology is neat (though you can't tell much from this video), but you can't actually see the fashion well because of all the random movements, blurs, and effects. Seems like it defeats the purpose of a runway (well, the official purpose). From a performance perspective there's very little to no actual timing or choreography, it's just a string of demo pieces with really awkward pauses and transitions. It feels like when someone adds way to many effects to a youtube video to make something simple look cool for a fan music video or something. Perhaps that's more what this is meant to be, kind of a demo reel?
But then, I'm not really in to fashion in the first place, so maybe I should be glad I don't "get it" and move on. ;)
I've known a couple people who did hand pinstriping, and from a basic standpoint, that's usually how it's done by anyone with a steady enough hand not to need tape (like, not me ;)) - just chalk the line and run the brush very carefully (unless you're running on an existing seam). Speed wise the best I've seen is about half that speed, though that was on a stationary car and usually with a new pattern each time, so not as much muscle memory. After enough years that guy's obviously built some serious confidence and has a naturally steady hand. Nice work.
This story seems kind of off... the stairs themselves aren't transparent, just the glass behind them. The glass itself isn't the issue so much as the gap in the stairs - and that type of stairwell can be found all over the place - in schools, museums, public parks... I've heard women complain about the design before, and I even understand it, but usually it's not a national news story.
If anything the glass makes a fix easy, because you can just frost it next week and be done with it.
Also, that judge has serious anger management issues.
Half of Star Trek suffers from some serious suckage as well, but I'm still a fan. It's a bit easier to bear on that side of things though since the good and bad episodes/movies came in alternating waves rather than one agonizing sequence of disappointment :)
Seems to me, since skunks are more commonly around smaller country roads, there should at least be some varieties with yellow stripes rather than white. :)
You should really be more clear in your article and graphics above that in his statements he is not really differentiating between HFCS and sugar (sucrose). This is not an HFCS debate (HFCS contains similar amounts of fructose, it's just not bonded at the time you ingest it), but a debate that any fructose consumption can have negative effects regardless of the original form.
For better or worse, you have to watch the whole thing to see the complete argument and the holes that he fills. In between the science he makes some broad opinionated comments that I think hurt his stance, but the science is certainly very interesting and seems sensible.
Also, at that level just covering your ears isn't enough to prevent ear damage, though certainly better than taking it straight on.
I much prefer quality over quantity. :)
