Totally agree, creating a test on a readily available teacher's edition or sample test book is downright lazy. They are very easy to acquire legitimately. In college you are also asking for it if you use past versions of your own tests, since students regularly use those as study guides... especially since some professors will actually encourage it and willingly make them available.

It would be poor sportsmanship to pull this in an advanced league or to get overly upset after falling for such a simple trick. In this case it's just a bit of fun in middle school, and an awesome lesson in how caught up with preconceptions of how something "should" be people get that they can be blind to the obvious.

Aside from the hotdog it seems kinda like a monster mcgriddle. French toast, bacon, potato, cheese, syrup... Though I'm sure it tastes infinitely better... well, again, aside from the hotdog :)

The Saturn 1B was used in the testing phase of Apollo to launch modules into orbit. The Saturn V was used for the actual moon trips.

"the shaking I get between meals if I wait to long to eat is mostly gone when I don’t have corn syrup for a whole week."

This may not be specific to HFCS, but just generally reducing the quantity of simple carbs (sugars) in your diet. It reduces the surges in your metabolism that cause those shakes when you hit a low point. I've noticed the same thing, but I can end up having a hypoglycemic reaction (even more shakes! :)) so I have to pay attention to have a good balance of some sugar, but not too much, and preferably spread out in small amounts.

The ONLY thing that really stands in the way of cross-gender friendships is the silly assumption that it can't happen. It's really annoying when you go out with an other-gender friend to have dinner or enjoy an evening like you would with any other friend, and everyone just assumes you are on a romantic date (especially people in the service industry). Put aside your stupid assumptions and it's really quite simple.

I don't think he's particularly upset about anything, it's very tongue-in-cheek.

That said, mashing words together is part of almost every language in the world, and many Germanic languages are pretty much built on the concept. Romance languages like Spanish, when spoken in real life, also have tons of dropped syllables and are darn near unintelligible to listen to if all you know is what you learned in a high school text book.

That is how all languages evolve over time. The dictionary is supposed to change. However, lolspeak and lazy sms methods don't belong. :P

As someone with allergies, the cop should be fined for being an idiot. Trying to operate equipment while dealing with a runny nose is far more hazardous than blowing your nose in an effectively parked car.

@Colt Seaver; most people know that quite well at this point. A large portion of the US grew up on tobacco production. It is part of our history. I've never met anyone too smug to say that.

The change may be slow, but despite that government bodies have still been restricting smoking further despite the negative impact on tax income and the economy. Many of our top politicians are bankrolled by tobacco companies, and yet change still happens. Slowly, but it does change, and no one is telling people to go out and smoke to boost economy even though it is one of our largest domestic products.

You can claim all you want that people are twisting the facts, but that's all you are doing here - twisting statistics to your benefit. The chemicals you list are indeed common in a lot of things, but they are a) not the primary concern of smoke hazards, and b) are being delivered into the body in different methods, which affects buildup and absorption. It is no myth that first and second hand smoke causes a buildup of material in the lungs... yes, just like any form of smoke, but compounded by constant exposure and the presence of heavy tars. That alone is a serious health risk which demonstratively leads to major problems, early death, and is a risk to small children.

Then, once you have that build-up in your lungs, it increases your retention of more harmful chemicals, even ones not included in the smoke itself, and allows them to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream.

Two of my grandparents died of lung cancer directly attributed to smoking, and one spent years on an oxygen tank due to emphysema which is an absolutely undeniable effect of constant smoking and the resultant damage to the lungs. Constant heavy exposure to second hand smoke carries the same risks.

Even disregarding all of that smoke is a strong trigger for millions of people with asthma. Don't be an inconsiderate jerk to those around you. If you want to smoke, do it on your own time somewhere else.

I the northwest at least, they don't care if you ask for a "medium", and they always ask you if you want cream cheese with your bagel - it's not improper English, it's a yes or no question and standard service. I hope she doesn't get mad at wait staff in a fancy restaurant when they ask if she would like a salad with her entree.

The part I love is the witness account that she started calling the barista names:

"She called [the barista] an a- -hole."

Now that's using proper English!

First key thing I was taught in high school English - You learn proper English so that later in life you can more effectively misuse it.
