Kind of explains why I never get sick & eat constantly. My normal body temp is 100 degrees. I have to constantly eat just to maintain any body weight. And I almost never get sick. Guess everything burns up before it has a chance to infect me.
The Parade organizers are to blame on this one. The route needs to be checked ahead of time for overhead obstructions. And nothing over a certain height will be allowed. In this case the balloon should not have been allowed. Most parades have these restrictions. If there are and turns in the parade route they also have length restrictions. But since the balloon was already in the parade the handlers should have stopped until they had a clear way around the obstruction or stopped and went to the side of the route. So that the rest of the parade could continue. These balloons are not cheap I hope it was well insured.
Since they both sound like Americans the Bike is clearly in the wrong on many counts. 1. The bike is supposed to follow the same rules of the road as automobiles. Hes going the wrong way on a one way street. A cop could give him a ticket far it. They could give a ticket to the walker too but there isn't a judge on the bench that would enforce the jay walking ticket. They would enforce the driving the wrong way on a one way street to the bike rider. Not because he was in the wrong but because he would be causing traffic problems. 2. Believe it or not. Courts consider Pedestrians as having the right of way weather they are using a marked cross walk or not. The pedestrian may be dead if he were hit by a car but when someone sued the driver far wrongful death of the pedestrian. The car driver would in most cases lose the civil case and also be put up for manslaughter charges. Same could have happened if the pedestrian was hurt by the idiot riding the bike.
Only thing worse would have been if the idiot on the bike would have been riding on the sidewalk and hit the walker.
You think its bad now wait until electric cars become more mainstream. The E Grid was never designed to put up with today's standard usage let alone adding a much bigger need that electric cars will require. But it cost big $ to update the grid. And the electric companies aren't going to pay out of their pockets far the updates. It will come out of us consumers pockets in much higher fees.
Doesn't surprise me at all. I lost a house in a Chapter 7 last year but the mortgage company has yet to do more than change the locks on the doors. According to city records the house is still mine so I get all the notices for lack of upkeep and the sewer bill. I have sent them all the final court notice saying I no longer own the house but they keep sending me the stuff anyway. Heck the mortgage company keeps sending me the mortgage bill with a letter telling me if I'm not caught up by such & such a time they will begin foreclosure. So they don't even have a clue whats going on from one department to another.
