One procedure anyone can do on themselves is to remove metal "suture" staples after a wound/surgical incision has healed. Just get some tweezers and a set of wire snips.Disinfect both. Snip the staples in the middle and remove both parts with the tweezers. Trust me it's quite painless and saves a few hundred dollars.
