I like Michio Kaku's rebuttal to the Fermi Paradox, which is to think about an anthill next to a multi-lane highway: Would the ants be aware of the highway? How could they recognize what it is, how would they be able to tell, at their level, that the highway was different from any other part of their 'univerise'. And even if they could recognize it, how would they communicate with anyone on the highway? As for the users of the highway, we generally wouldn't notice the anthill at all, either ignoring it or accidentally stepping on it.
van·i·ty? ?/?væn?ti/ Show Spelled [van-i-tee] Show IPA noun, plural -ties, adjective –noun 1. excessive pride in one's appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.;
So yeah, vanity is another way to say pride.
As for using Esmeralda for lust, that wouldn't work. It seems clear that the artist is trying to find people who embody the sins in question. Cinderella is lust because her ultimate wish was to have a handsome prince. Ariel was greed because despite all she had, she wanted more material objects. Tink was envy because she was envious of Wendy. What lust did Esmeralda have? Did she want to have sex with Frollo? No? Then she doesn't embody lust, just because someone else felt towards her.
When I saw this the first time (when it was posted around Easter), this is what I thought: It looks really cute, but actually hampers the bunny's movement. Before the bunny could go wherever it wanted. Now it can only go where wheels can go. Just because it looks cute doesn't make it a good idea. Sorry, bunny philanthropists. This is kind of like making a cute costume for a bunny "to keep it warm."
@hmm... Do *you* know about the scientific method? It involves observation and conclusions drawn from observation. If something, by it's very nature, cannot be observed in a physical way, one cannot use the scientific method to either prove or disprove it. A true scientist would know this. Someone treating "science" like a cult or religion in itself would not.
Kevorkian, compassionate? You've actually read Kevorkian's history, haven't you? The requests to experiment on prisoners that are on death row, and harvest their organs? His attempts to use cadaver blood on living patients? His use of cadaver blood for painting? Not to mention the fact that the people he killed were not in physical pain, they were psycologically depressed and needed councilling, not murder.
Kevorkian has the profile of a serial killer. And a con man, too, since he has convinced so many people that his obsession with death is 'compassion.'
"If anyone here claims they knew what good music was when they were 13 thirteen is lying."
When I was thirteen, I adored They Might be Giants and Sting (Dream of the Blue Turtles, Nothing Like the Sun variety of Sting). I loathed New Kids on the Block and thought they were unbearably bad, and actually got some serious dislike from some classmates who thought I was dumb for hating them.
So yeah, actually, I think was pretty good at knowing what good music was at 13.
(I do understand that school vouchers as currently posited, are intended for private schools. I think all schools, public and private, should have to 'work' for their dollars in this way, though.)
All the more reason we need school vouchers so that high performing schools get rewarded, and parents who want the best for their children don't get punished for it.

Lolers. You know that lions occasionally eat their own cubs, right?

Also, lollipop, Neatorama? Don't you mean popsicle?

But I don't agree that carved candles are tacky as a rule. Baroque and lush, yes, but not necessarily tacky.
I think these styles are a lot more indicative of what I like about carved candles: http://www.handcarvedcandlesfbg.com/1809087.html
