A few months ago, zefrank held a call for Photoshopped merit badges. I made a LOLcat badge:

Does the party scene at these colleges really change so much from year to year? Or does the Princeton Review just want free publicity on a yearly basis?

Now I'm not saying the Beatles aren't a great band, or that some of their album artwork isn't legendary, but they are way over-represented here. Even worse, the recreations of the Beatles albums are basically lego heads pasted into the original artwork. The non-Beatles albums were done with much more creativity (I particularly like the Muse album).

I sense some confusion here. All that happened is that Diane and Craig had a set of identical twins. No weird genetics, no inbreeding, nothing. The interesting part is that Diane and Craig each have an identical twin sibling (who just so happen to be married to each other).

I think the two little girls in the picture are either sisters or cousins, not twins.

There are already dozens of snarky "look how bad this is" blogs out there... but this one is the first I've actually added to my feed list. Absolutely hilarious! Thanks Miss C.

More like the 7 creepiest trees, 5 photoshopped trees, 6 trees with faces in them if you squint, 7 somewhat unusual trees, and 5 humorous trees.

To add to what Bartleby84 said:

the LC (Liquid Chromatography) part works on the principle that molecules have different degrees of solubility in a certain solvent. The solvent flows through a matrix of sorts, and the more soluble chemicals get taken along more quickly, but the less soluble ones lag behind. You can do this yourself: draw a line with a black marker on a strip of paper towel or coffee filter, then stick the bottom of the strip into a pool or water or rubbing alcohol (the alcohol works better for permanent markers). As the solvent travels up the strip, it will take some pigments with it more quickly, and some will lag behind.

I don't doubt that octopi are intelligent for invertebrates, but this video, though cool, doesn't demonstrate that. All it says is that they've evolved to be able to instinctively squeeze into and out of tight places in the reefs and caves beneath the sea.
