And when I read this in Ian Fleming's book "You Only Live Twice," I thought it was made up.
So now I know something James Bond did--not that either of us can do it.

That was great. I like "so Americans can hear words pronounced correctly."
Of course, the foot that was a nod to Monty Python was a great touch, too.

"border fence near Tuscan, AZ"? Do you realize that Tuscan is about 70 miles north of the border? I think using "near" is a bit of a stretch.

Reminds me of this joke from Stephen Wright: "I am addicted to placebos. I would quit but I don't think it will make a difference."

Proof of why you should never read Revelation in a vacuum. To understand the book of Revelation, you need to read most of the rest of the Bible, especially Daniel and Isaiah. Also, reading it (Revelation) trying to make all the imagery and numbers tie out will drive one insane.
Also, when you read the letters John wrote (especially 2 John and 3 John), you realize that there are many anti-Christs (to paraphrase, anyone who says God is anything but love is an anti-Christ).

Last winter, our furnace was on the fritz--would not ignite the gas, so we had to manually do it (fortunately, only a couple of times before the repair guy was able to come with the right piece to fix the furnace). What amazed me was that when the gas started flowing, I touched a lit lighter to the gas pipes and IMMEDIATELY there was flame everywhere (fortunately, where it was supposed to be so no damage done). How quick the fire appeared was freaky--and made me understand how tragic things like this explosion can happen.

I remember watching the "Tonight Show" years ago (the first time Jay Leno was the host) when a scientist was on showing what he thought was happening in the Burmuda Triangle--and it was this theory. He showed it using a large body of water in plexiglass and pumping methane into it. The toy boat sank like a rock and the model airplane burst into flames (I believe).
While I can not remember how plausible the scientist's credentials were, I thought it was an interesting segment.

gryt - one needs to look at the positives as well as the negatives when considering anything, such as "green" energy.
For instance, some argue that we (the USA) should use windmills to lower our dependency on foreign oil. However, the rare-earth elements used in windmills are almost all in China (source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/23/AR2010042302220.html )

I agree with how stupid this invention is. When I am driving, I am looking forward, as well as in my rear-view mirrors and to the edge of the road (to look for woodland creatures that may be feeling suicidal), glancing at my speedometer or clock, etc. How is this invention going to react to these eye movements? And what happens if I glance at the person riding shotgun? Will the car veer sharply to the right then roll?

vonskippy: where it matters is when you have to mail something with a specific post date (as Minnesotan said, such as your taxes--the IRS requires your tax return to be postmarked no later than April 15)--then it matters quite a bit.
With this knowledge, I could get the stamps tomorrow and mail my return on Friday and stay out of trouble with the IRS.

Here, the water I drink and use is taken from a river, cleaned, sent to me via water towers, sent through my drains to a water treatment plant that cleans the water and dumps the clean water back into the same river. Recycling made easy!
