It is absoutely my goal to one day have a vacation place where I can spend the hottest of the summer months (maybe somewhere in Oregon on a creek or something) and then spend the rest of the year here in Southern California. Although I've always lived in So Cal I have spent time all over the country. Here I'm 30 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from the mountains, 30 minutes from the desert, and an hour from L.A. I enjoy everything wonderful about small town living with the convenience of having everything a big city could offer just a short drive away. I don't think I could love anywhere as much as I love Southern California (especially the Inland Empire - our mountain-views and palm tree lined streets are incredible).
And this is why I resisted getting the damn Wii Fit. Or maybe it's because that stupid camera fitness program thing I got years ago for Playstation never did anything but disappoint me and now I'm completely soured on these newfangled fitness gimmicks. P.S. Nice to "meet" you, CK!
This is one of those situations where you can talk till your blue in the face about how wrong it is, but what are you going to do about it? Take them away? Make people get permission from the government before they can have kids? Submit a financial statement at your first obgyn visit and if you don't meet the standard they abort? Anyone with half a brain knows this isn't "right", but when you have all the freedoms we do you have to expect that the idiots out there are going to do stuff like this. Ihe alternative, I think, would not be an option most of you would like.

I notice all the time that the couples who seem the happiest/stay together indefinitely are often the ones who have similar attributes (not DRESS alike, but have the similar facial features, body types, etc.). It makes sense. Why wouldn't we look for a partner that reminds us of ourselves?
Merry Xmas everyone! Since we're all alive, have access to the internet, and are all, I'm sure, warm and cozy with a roof over our heads and food in our bellies, I wish you a new year with at least as much great fortune and let's all remember just how lucky we ARE in these "awful" times.
I used to use my nail polish for painting things mixed tape covers. A friend and I once painted her entire car (it was the first year Honda, I think - a tiny little thing) with spray paint and little tiny brushes we'd dip into spray paint pooled onto paper plates. We did it in the winter in her garage with the door closed and the fumes were something else. That car looked like a hippie just exploded all over it. Good times.
