Note to mom and pop: Change your hours and stay in business. I grew up in a small town with a walmart that has never been open for 24 hours. It's called competition. In high school, I worked for a locally owned grocer in the same town as a huge wallmart and our hours were 8-midnight. We did fine. In fact, that store, along with the local walmart, has grown. Capitalism is an amazing thing when you don't hate it.

Will you anti capitalist Walmart haters please focus yourselves on a real problem like Government waste or something? If people didn't want to shop at Walmart, they would not spread. Religious Creed and/or political beliefs are not hereditary in a genetic sense. That's like me telling you that your intolerance and egotistical assertions about the lack of intelligence of the billions that do not agree with you is written in your genetic code, and you should therefore abstain from reproducing.

The bottom line is that one individual has no right to keep another from living (and thus procreating) as they see fit. I realize that you are not physically forcing your anti-procreation message on anyone, but you have to realize that your stance is intolerant and does not adhere to the tenants of basic equality and human rights. There are lots of examples. Communist China, the Third Reich. The idea that anyone should be discouraged from pursuing their basic reproductive rights because of their religious (or atheist) beliefs is actually not a very bright idea in and of itself.

Answer a question for me please:
Can you name another group of people upon whom it would be acceptable for you to apply your anti-procreation message? This is for those of you who scoffed at the "bigotry" label that I applied previously. Directed at any other group of people, that kind of statement would rightfully be called bigotry.

Jay: There is a key difference between Cancer and Wall-Mart. Cancer is an invasive disease that kills people. Wall-Mart is a store. But then I suppose you were just being poetic.....hm. Also, while it is a shame that Wall-Mart DOES drive the fabled "mom and pop" stores out of business,the boutique shop population has skyrocketed in the past twenty or so years. Mom and pop may be forced to diversify or move on to something else. I notice no one sheds the same crocodile tears when Small farms and natural resource based economies are decimated by the environmental lobby that bases it's arguments on highly suspect scientific findings and outright lies. Of course, simple government expansion is to blame for this imposed poverty in many rural areas of the U.S. Hey! maybe government regulation is a cancer! It certainly drives many more small businesses to extinction than Wall-Mart does.

It's capitalism folks. If the customers weren't there shopping, those stores wouldn't exist. If the people didn't want it, it wouldn't exist. But the people do want it of their own volition. If you don't like that fact, you either have an inflated ego and think that wall-mart customers are less intelligent than you...or you don't like capitalism.....or you're a blindfolded passenger on a bandwagon :)

Just to make sure (some aren't versed in the subtle ways of sarcasm) I'm kidding. Timothy is absolutely right.

A black guy (mixed race...whatever.) won the nomination for the Democrats. Yay. Aren't the dems magnanimous. So.....he talks about all of this change and a new direction for our divided country.
