Seems like people tend to be a whole lot more cavalier about eating expired food ... until AFTER that first bout with food poisoning. My first and only experience occurred about 9 years ago and to this day I'm still pretty darned careful about eating anything that might be 'off' - once bitten, twice shy!
My dog twitches a lot in her sleep, and tends to make ridiculously cute "squeaky" noises. Maybe I'll try that tonight and be 33% of the way there to longevity!
Ha ha, I can so empathize! Every time I see an article like this, it makes me glad I fled the corporate world when I did for a nice cozy spot back in grad school. I may be living off of Ramen noodles and have no room in my budget any more for gum, but at least I never have to hear words like "straw man" or "bandwidth" (as in, "do you have the bandwidth to take on this project?") any more.
The one that always made me twitch the most at my old job was "phenomenality," which got bandied about every time someone wanted to measure the success of a given project ("How high is it on the phenomenality scale?" *twitch twitch twitch*). I couldn't hear that word without launching into a bastardized version of the song "Ma Na Ma Nah" in my head ... doo doo de doo doo!
Those all look very moving; I'd love to see the Welsh Dragon one in particular. But I think I like the peace monuments featured on another page of that site even better ...
Just wanted to say that I really like the fact that you just had a summary on the main page - it's a neat article and I enjoyed reading it, but I also really appreciated being able to scroll past it -quickly- to see the posts underneath first =) I hope you consider doing this for other longish posts in the future ...
(How DO tortoises sit, btw?)

That song is going to be in my head for the rest of the day now, so I figured I'd share ...
