Heh, it IS a curse, PapaTango - I can't be near a pen without having to spin it, either, no matter how many times people have told me it's distracting ... And come to think of it, like a lot of other folks have said, I picked the skill up from a Korean classmate, too - hey, maybe it's a conspiracy! Maybe the Master Plan is to get enough people addicted to it such that come the revolution all they'll have to do is lay down a load of pens and invade while we're all too busy spinning the darned things to pick up a weapon or put up any resistance!

Heh ... that V-shaped building kind of behind the London Eye, at the very bottom of the picture? I lived there for a while back in 2001 - seeing the place all flooded like that actually IS highly disturbing ... actually, I'm more than a little disturbed to admit that I'm more immediately bothered by that than by any of the REAL pictures I've seen of the current ongoing Midwestern US floods ... I -guess- there's a power in things you can relate to personally, but even so this is distressing ...

- Hug the nearest friendly dog
- Read a book beneath a tree
- Flip through a catalog and play the "What would you order if you could/had to order ONE item on each page?" game
- Learn to spin a pen around your fingers
- Alphabetize your books, pantry items, things in your glove box - anything that CAN be alphabetized

I wasn't wild about the whole "sweaty near-nekkid person flouncing around in close quarters" premise in the first place, but then reading through these comments - oy vey - the thought of someone "wrapping their nethers" around a subway pole is enough to send the germophobe in me into a catatonic trance ... I would certainly be happy to be spared that "goddess'" blessing =P

Wow, I really, really like that. So often lately I've heard people point out that, hey, the local gas station owners are hurting just as much as we are from this whole oil/petrol crisis, but no matter how much I might be able to acknowledge this intellectually, emotionally it's still hard not to feel resentment every time I pull up to the pump and shell out a huge wad of cash. For a gas station owner to utilize a sense of -fun- to help us vent our frustrations is -such- a good idea; I probably would make a point of patronizing that station if it were anywhere near me. I hope those dunk tank employees are being paid well!
