During some Wiccan ceremonies an apple is cut sagittaly with the upper and lower halves then shown. the seed pattern is one of a five pointed star. Although Wicca is a fairly new religion the custom may have been borrowed from earlier Pagan rituals and could lend some additional reason as to why the Apple is considered to be the forbidden fruit.

Its neither. Its a veiled economic stimulus for the food industry. They don't have to stop preparing or selling non-Italian food, they must simply purchase from Italian sources. A bit too protectionist but it definitely gets the votes of the local ingredients vendors.

The obsession with having them is better than a few years ago when the obsession seemed to be moms killing and/or dismembering their children. I would much prefer 8 live children in the public eye than one dead one.

Frankly it is insulting for them to say that the Science Fiction community is so daft that they do not understand the true breadth of Science Fiction. Besides, technically SyFy means nothing and still sounds like the same channel. Therefore in a conversation either term would evoke the same image to the listener.
