That distance? It goes right through them. It doesn't look nearly as beautiful as I expected.

I miss the Disney World version when it was sponsored by Fed-Ex. Every time they refurbish it they seem to take something cool out. The line itself was one of the coolest parts of the ride. Once in a while when i hear weird atmospheric music or a strong burst of AC in a dark room I instantly think of the Space Mountain line. I miss the whole 'going to Mars' theme with the fake weather reports and shuttle information. Now it's pretty much just a ride with no story or extra atmosphere to set it up. I did recently visit the Disney Land park and found their version with better improvements. Better carts and newer design, though I didn't grow up there so I don't know what changes they've made for better or worse.

It's a trick. It connects you with other people also using the program and randomly switches connections to different people. You all think you're talking to a robot, but you're really talking to each other!
