Very neat! I had a similar idea this past December for my wife's birthday. She loves French Impressionism and her favorite artist is Claude Monet. I recreated his painting "Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge" on a cake using colored sugar water as my "paint". Here's the time lapse video of the cake being decorated, and also my wife's reaction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWcqzd_ximA
How neat! My wife and I were just at Natural Bridge a week ago. I took a Photosynth photo from almost the same spot as the photo above. http://www.photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=eb12d1b5-fe4b-4d53-814c-109ee114de72 We saw the carved surveyor's markings, but didn't realized George Washington's involvement until we got back to the gift shop and I read about it on the back of a postcard. Thanks for posting this. It's a very interesting and beautiful place.
