Jeffrey, interesting point. Geeky but still intesesting.
If your interested in that kind of discussion, I heard Robert J. Sawyer, an SF author, talking about some of this sort of stuff on Big Ideas, the Canadian lecture podcast (of which I am a fan).
Anyway, back to Star Wars and Evil. The power hungry were evil and lots of people were just trying to make their living inside an evil empire. From the movies perspective, evil is the Emporers side and the rebels were the good guys. Good guys were farmers, Ewoks (indigenous people), and rogues. Bad guys were by the books semi-robots (storm troopers). Leigh's last name is Organa, which also implies she shops at Whole Foods. Nuff Said.
I knew there'd be a munky out there. BTW, jerk, despite what you might be seeing on TV, plenty of people here understand the deep horror of war and are remembering it all to well today.
Where I live, Denver, neighborhoods/suburbs are based on driving. Lots of strip malls, parking lots, drive through banks/restaraunts, etc. Just terribly pedestrian un-friendly.
You can see some changes already. Light rail usage is up. People are driving less, selling their SUV's, etc.
BTW, iuwer, it was British research being written about in an English language version of a Russian newspaper. No Americans were hurt in their experiments.
I see it, maybe to a lesser extent in Denver. Sweats are fairly common for use as sleeping and outdoor clothes. Pajamas maybe not so much exactly though.
Wow, these are really some jewels: “John, surfing, said to his mother, surfing beside him, ‘How do you like surfing?’” • “Turning, I mentally digested all of what you, the reader, are about to find out heartbreakingly.”

I will say whatever we call it, the real estate bubble bursting and high gas prices are affecting people.
