I lived in England for a couple years and had the benefit of seeing a few other European countries in the meantime...what impressed me most was how walkable everything was. America is car oriented. While there are sidewalks here, you rarely seeing people use them. It's understandable as the roads in the States are made for cars, not pedestrians. In Europe I didn't drive, I walked everywhere without a second thought. Here in the States I feel like I have to take extra caution every time I cross an intersection.
I was surprised at how many ads for books there were in London, and how few ads for movies there were there. Kind of the opposite of here in the States.
Pixar's association with Disney has always troubled me and this is why. It's a real shame because Pixar is/was in a lot of ways the anti-disney and that's why I have enjoyed their movies every bit as much as my children have. It remains to be seen whether Pixar can stave off Disnyfication.
This might as well be called "I'm a huge fan of Fight Club, and would love to call myself an artist, but I can't come up with a single original idea, so I'll imitate someone else's art/literature and call it my own."
