Hopefully, if this comes to fruition it will help diabetics better control their blood glucose levels. It's my experience that there are some diabetics that are in the mindset that "If I don't see it happening then I'm OK." Perhaps having a constant visual reminder of their range blood glucose levels will cause them to better associate controlling it. The first hurdle is testing and monitoring, and getting a non-compliant diabetic to do that can be a very trying thing to family and loved ones. Although, I can see a problem with older people and cataracts because they cause things to look brown but otherwise this just rocks.

I know these are cute but I can't help but be kinda freaked out heebie geebie style by the eyes. Sort of like it's going to be licking it's hands and then it's suddenly going to just lash out and kill me and then go back to be all cute and licking it's hands.

I have problems don't I?

I'm in my mid-twenties and I've always been a big fan of these films and many other older films. They're hokey and funny but very educational at the same time. My friend (another film buff) and I were watching a program about restoring and saving old educational films and a clip another one of these dating ones was included. It brought about a dicussion about how teen "dating" had changed so much since the 40's and 50's and we were wondering why everyone in our school was "going steady" and had to be in what were way too serious of relationships, instead of just "going to the sockhop with Brad on Friday and the drive-in with David on Saturday." It always baffled us how it changed so much and someone couldn't just "go out on a date" without something more serious being implied.

My mother-in-law makes a wicked Chicken Paprikash with giblets, hearts and dumplings. Who doesn't like fried giblets with hot sauce? (salivates)

I can see the complaint thinking you're paying for white or dark meat and getting a couple ounces of giblets thrown in the mix but I don't understand why they didn't just sell the giblets by themselves if they had extras.

liphttam1 Guinea pigs should not use running wheels or exercise balls, their backs aren't flexible enough. ;) Though they would eat the paper, which ocassional paper eating is ok.

I do know someone who runs a tax preperation business and used to own a macaw. She'd let him shred up her mistakes.

So many screws so little time. There are probably thousands of different screw heads and bits if you consider proprietary and specialty made security screws.

As a computer tech it's always fun trying to figure out who last misplaced the specialty bit for the tv mountings.

Also, it is standard knowledge that P-2 and P-4 (typically used Phillips sizes) bits are sentient beings that love to disappear, hide themselves, and otherwise relocated on their own accord to frustrate people needing Phillips bits every where.

It is also standard knowledge that wherever two or more Standard (flathead) screwdrivers are gathered they will multiply and produce more of themselves and also somehow magically mate with Phillips screwdrives and change them into Standards.

Oh great now the "Grocery Shrink Ray" blog virus has hit Neatorama too. Shrinking packaging has been the topic on Consumerist for MONTHS now. This isn't "new" news by any means.

I read this earlier in the day. The only thing I could think of is "What is wrong with people?" As Stefanie said earlier in the comments that it was common place for the parents to side with the people whose yard was being invaded by the kids' toys. If that were my neighbor growing up and my father found out that my ball kept going in that poor woman's yard I would've 1. gotten a stern talking to 2. been made to apologize to the woman 3. promise to never ever again get in throwing range (let alone sight) of her yard. Seriously, what about the kid harassing a poor old women by going in her yard and invading her privacy and tresspassing to get his football?

This may not hold up legally since he did it without his wife's knowledge and he used two different birth certificates and "caused some confusion." Depends upon the state and judge. I agree with everyone else he'd be out on the curb for that stunt. What an arrogant buttmunch.
