Worked briefly (8 months) as a prison guard in Texas. The younger inmates have a Facebook page that's updated by their friends/family. The older inmates have...really no idea what the internet is or how it works. Both are going to be at at major disadvantage when they're released and expected to find jobs in the real world.

I wonder if part of that creativity response might be due to the visual stimulus of clutter as randomly occurring shapes and angles, as opposed to the expected squared-off look of a tidy office.

I can't imagine a program of this magnitude being approved today. Not only would the Party of No actively work to defeat it, programs like this help average Americans instead of those poor, needy corporations. At what point did the stock market begin to be the only picture of the financial health of a nation?

Six Feet Under's finale was absolutely perfect. [SPOILER-ISH, I think:] It was very sweet and poignant, a flash-forward (interspersed with scenes of the youngest daughter's driving to college to start her own life) to how each of the characters meets their eventual demise. That was such a well-crafted show. I'm gonna have to watch it again..

I'll bet! With movies all over the place (theater to DVD to Netflix to tv) now, it's weird to remember that theaters used to show really old movies (10-20+ years old) and still pack the house. Movies like "Gone With the Wind" were made to be seen in a real theater. too.

Two things on that list definitely need to come back: intermission and the "Cry Room." Actually, I'm really surprised theaters don't have intermission anymore because that'd give them twice the opportunity to sell overpriced junk food.

That was indeed some fine editing! They actually kept the rhythm going with it. Seen too many bad edits by people attempting this sort of thing by just chaining the words together.

I'm American, and I don't get it either. It appears to be a series of meetings followed by people trying to knock each other down. And a weirdly-shaped brown ball plays some role in it.

As long as you keep it dry, sugar doesn't go bad. Lots of calories and you can mix it up with yeast, water and the syrup from those 20-year-old canned peaches to create some prison hooch. You'll need a little nip to keep the edge off when you're fighting zombies and assorted crazies.
