"Shh... What's that?" Truly adorable. I hope this video gets passed around a lot.

So you can't yell "fire" in a theater, because it will cause panic, but you can yell "gun" which will cause panic? Got it.

Most of the 20-somethings I know only use email if they need to send an attachment to each other. Phones are primarily for texting, and they see nothing weird in having a conversation via text with somebody who's sitting right next to them.

Seeing this amazing piece of mechanical design really makes me miss the pre-CGI days. Creating "puppets" like this and automated miniatures is a dying art.

The old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is fine and dandy until bridge collapse kills a few dozen people. Really do wish we'd stop throwing war money into the Middle East and start using to make improvements here at home.

One of the best things about having a "dumb phone" (it doesn't do texts) is that it weeds out a lot of frivolous communication. ["Hey gurl. watz up?" "Hi. Shall I give you a call so we can actually converse?" "LOL No. Jus wntd to say hey." "Well, bye." "CYA"]

Most people would be surprised at how many areas either don't have anything but dialup or a low-speed "wifi from a cell phone tower" internet. Making genuine high-speed internet available over the entire US should be a major infrastructure goal. When it comes to facilitating commerce, it's right up there with roads and bridges and electricity.

A government shutdown doesn't hit everyone immediately, but it if stretches out, you'll feel a hit at some point. Sort of a trickle down thing.
