What is with all the hate towards showbiz or other people like this guy? So, you don't like his music. So what? Why does that translate into comments like the above?

Who raised you to think that way? Why are there so many of you on the Internet? Do you really believe he deserves being hit by a thrown object at a concert? Do you really feel good about publishing your inappropriate comments on websites?

He reacted like a pro and went on with his show. To me, seems like he's capable of behaving like a normal human being. Despite the pressure.

As for the idiot who threw the bottle... Why go to a concert to do that? Who thinks that that is a cool thing to do? I mean, you don't like him, why go to the concert?

Sure wish they'd make as much effort to open up their societies to something other than islamic thought as they do putting things ''in our face''.

''Arab scientists''. Uh, huh. Right.

no! no! This is just another trick, to turn all of you wonderful youths into SLAVES, I say, SLAVES, to the education system in America! Do not fall prey to the almighty GPA! Instead, open your mind, I say, open your minds and freeeee yourselves!

Atonal music was never meant to be mainstream, anyway. The fact that some of it is so well-known speaks very positively about what we are willing to listen to.

But if the human eye can put up with artwork that is unpleasant to LOOK at, the human ear prefers something enjoyable to listen to, something to remember. Something simple, like a melody or the beautiful sound of an instrument.

It doesn't mean we are dumb or incapable. It is just normal.

No one expects you to leave high school as an enlightened 18 y.o. - teenagers are way too immature to really understand the importance of learning. That comes later on, when you are older, unfortunately.

Her take on public school is a sham. You get back what you invest in your schooling and then some. Teachers cannot force you to be interested in every subject. They are happy if you show interest in one or two. They aren't Robin Williams standing on desks and inspiring the world! But American schools do have art, music, theater...as part of the school day, for pete's sake! Go to other countries and see how much of that you get without your parents having to pay for it at private academies and such.

Yet another spoiled product of parents who probably sit around and whine about how not everything is handed to Americans on a silver platter.

May she grow up to be more appreciative of the opportunities afforded her here.

Robin, everyone who commented is talking about the food they had on their int'l flights.

What exactly are you all upset about? You're obviously British - ''you lot'' is not American.

Felt like lecturing the Americans about how ignorant they are, huh? Even when the comments are from people who have indeed travelled. Duh.

So, who looks ignorant?

You do.

Humidity is a definite activity-killer. I live in a very humid place, all year long, and I have become so sedentary, it's scary.

Can't wait to get away and go find someplace with crisp, dry, even cold, air. Whew!

wow, anti-palining and huffpoing all in the same post. guess we can tell what side YOU are on, eh.

my favorite politician word blunder this year is obama's ''corpseman'' instead of corpsman.

did you use that as to link in to some post about language at the time?

don't remember anything...

Have Colorado summers really grown so long? I haven't noticed that summer is longer where I live. Are they now considering October to be summer month there now?

I think French public opinion is a little fed up with certain sections of the population insulting the tricolor anytime they feel like it.

The French hear their national anthem booed at sporting events by French citizens of Algerian descent who, although born in France, prefer to root for the Algerian team, for example.

Can you imagine an Italian-American insulting the American anthem at such an event just because he wants to show he's rooting for Italy? No way.

It has been happening that the French flag is removed from city halls and other such administrative buildings during the nite and replaced with the Algerian flag. Some people are fed up with the lack of respect. So, when this picture hit the news, there was a bit of a scandal.

What bothered me most was not that someone staged the photo but that someone felt it was artistically worthy enough to be part of an exhibit. It isn't. It's not a good photo and is very childish in its intent. But the people at the FNAC (the store that regularly has photo exhibits) just had to choose it. THAT is where the problem really lies.
