George Harrison once said and I fully agree that Rubber Soul and Revolver could have been a double album. The songs are similar on both but Revolver does progress slightly more.
Try the Newman Family Recipe Italian dressing (not the Zesty one). Its AWESOME! And didn't you work with his daughter Susan in I Wanna Hold Your Hand? Did you meet him?
Eddie...of all the stories you've had on Neatorama, this might be my favorite. Tom Hanks is my 2nd favorite actor of all time right behind Ringo Klaus. You talked to him about the same things I would have too...John Candy....Jackie Gleason...everything. He's always come across as a genuinely nice guy and this cements it. The Dodgers tickets was awesome.
The one chance to actually hear Harpo talk in a movie where he isn't playing his normal non-speaking character and it's a SILENT movie. Oh the irony!! Great piece Eddie. I learned something new!
I knew John sucked on lozenges all day before Twist and Shout but never heard the blood story before. I'm not surprised. Like he said..."I wasn't singing. I was just screaming the damn thing.". Great article Eddie!!
I once met Adam (in full Barman gear) at a car show in Tampa Florida back in 1979. I was 19 and stood in line with about 20 five year olds to meet him. One of the greatest days of my life.
To me, The Marx Brothers were comedy's version of The Rat Pack. Groucho Marx was the Frank Sinatra...the leader...the "cool" one. Chico was the middle man...the Dean Martin and Harpo was the one who may have been the most overall talented...the Sammy Davis Jr. They ruled in their day like The Pack. Great article Eddie.
Great piece Eddie. I actually heard it different. I heard they needed one more song to fill the album and that Lane told Dean he had just written this song but didn't think it was good enough. Dean heard it, loved it and the rest is history. Either way, he did live up to his statement. I wonder if I could buy the album on eBay and pay for it through "Pay Pallie"
Great facts Eddie. Here is something very cool... If you go to the web site www.abbeyroad.com/Crossing you will see a LIVE camera shot of that crossing. The camera from what I can make out is located up in the tree to the left of the VW on the cover picture. Check it out. It's really awesome. Lots of Beatles fans crossing it and getting pictures taken and holding up traffic.
Some say to this day he was our best president. Others not so much. I think the David Frost interviews spoke soundly of his character and ego. It illegal unless it's the president doing it says it all. Nice piece Eddie!
Wow...that was downright MEAN. Although it makes me wonder if Rogers thoght he was doing the right thing by thanking them. But still...He may never have met a man he didn't like but sounds like there were two women he didn't care for...LOL!!
Great piece Eddie. One interesting item was the strange, bizarre audio piece that the guys decided to put on the very end of the 2nd side of the British release of the vinyl record. It was a weird clip of nonsense that played when the needle stuck in the groove where the record players with auto arm returns would return the needle back to the arm rest. If you didn't have the auto return, you got to hear the clip. If you had the return you wouldn't and would never know about it. Just another clever John & Paul idea. It was not on the U.S. release for some reason but it is on the CD. I read somewhere that when played backwards, the clips sound like the guys singing "We f_ _k like Supermen". I don't think it does personally.
