When you're talking about the Crown Vic, you're really talking about the Ford Panther platform, which also formed the underpinnings for the Ford LTD, Lincoln Continental and Town Car, the Ford Police Interceptor, the Mercury Marquis and Grand Marquis and the Mercury Marauder.
So there are a lot of things you can do with the basic platform, and a lot of parts out there for gearheads to tinker with.
As an added bonus, the Panther platform was comfortable and practical. Certainly miles ahead of its GM equivalent.
It honestly depends on the character and type of movie. If the movie blurb starts with "Sexy archaeologist" and it's a dumb action movie, then yeah, this sort of thing would not be out of place. Especially with Catwoman, who has always been a "sexy" villainess.
On the other hand, I would be really disappointed in a remake of Aliens that treated Ripley this way. Because Ripley's character does not revolve around her being sexy.
The following movies: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton version), Thor, Captain America, and space for The Avengers when it comes out.
My current dishwasher does a pretty good job of getting dirty stuff clean, especially if you use the pots and pans setting when necessary.
The dishwasher at my previous apartment did not, so I pre-rinsed the things that needed it. I suspect that pre-rinsing is better than having to run the dishwasher a second time.
I will also note that dishwasher detergent no longer has phosphates in it, so it may not do as good a job as it did 10 years ago.
I also conserve resources by not buying Consumer Reports.
By 1974, the basics of the internet were already in operation as ARPANET. The first email had been sent in 1971. Clarke was simply aware of the current state of the art, rather than being a prophet.
It's not really a makeover, the building was always supposed to have the glass facade.
The rumors were that the concrete work was substandard to the point of being unsafe. Maybe that was untrue, or maybe people decided that it didn't matter.
Some people may recognize this building from a mission in the first Mercenaries video game.
Unless I really have a full cart, I usually leave the cart at the dropoff point by the side of the store, and just carry my bags of stuff to the car. Equally polite, and easier for me than hauling the cart to my car and then to the corral.
Or maybe completely irresponsible journalists are making stuff up.
I can't help but notice the lack of comments by actual doctors in the story, as opposed to environmentalist mouthpieces.
My guess is that doctors are indeed allowed to tell patients what is making them sick, IF those chemicals are actually detected at harmful levels. In other words, they can share the full results of toxicology tests, but they can't share the lists of chemicals used at various sites. But the doctors have that information themselves so they know what to look for.
And if that's the case, it strikes me as a very good idea.
In order for it to be fair to pay more for some degrees, universities would first have to stop deliberately flunking out half the starting class. Penn State Engineering Program, I'm looking at you.

On the other hand, having seen a drunken elephant, I would think that it would be very dangerous for the animal, as a fall could be fatal.
