I was required to purchase an Apple Lisa entering college. Found out later that my university made a deal with Apple that they would purchase the Lisa if Apple would give a discount on the McIntosh's when they came out. Hence, my class was stuck with a $2,000 doorstop. >:-(

They used to have regular tours, which as the story points out, stopped in 1989. Even then, if you go to the left of the base of the steps, there is a Visitor's Center. It used to have an observation area with big windows where you could see the undercroft. Haven't been in a while, but I think they covered up the windows. Excited to hear it's opening again in 2022!
