Seriously? 23 years without a raise? Kept on the line, thinking their days were numbered? If that is to be believed, these guys really were stooges. They couldn't tell their popularity by the audiences at their live stage show? They didn't read newspapers or the trades? Did the studio keep them in a vault and lock them away from all outside stimuli? I suppose the studio could have kept reporters away from them and minimize the publicity over their popularity (no PR machines churning out propaganda), but that would only hurt grosses, in the end.

I watched the Batman series religiously when I was a child, but I don't remember these cameos! I could identify all of them except the last two. One question: does the criminal element of Gotham City all keep their headquarters in the same building?

Call me old-fashioned, but I love the Oscars just how they are. I love seeing the technical award folks get their moment in the sun, I love the goofy "ad-libbed" speeches by actors who are used to having their words written for them. I love the montages, I love the best song performances, I love the host's opening monologue. OK, I could get rid of the inane chit-chat between stars before each category is introduced, but at least it gives me time to get back from the bathroom.

Just seeing the ad in pictures, it looks like the posters are actually designed to be erasable/cleanable, so they are changeable art, "inviting" graffiti, and thus public discourse (like this) and even greater advertisement.

@overspent: The "only" referred to the fact that no one should take out that much of a loan when they cannot afford the payments--regardless of their income, be it $20,000 or $200,000.
