"Today, almost as legendary is Florida's XANADU - world's largest private pleasure ground. Here, on the deserts of the Gulf Coast, a private mountain was commissioned, successfully built for its landlord, Charles Foster Kane!"
A friend informs me the spiked, horned one is Anguirus, from the 2nd Godzilla movie, GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN (1955). Interesting that this book included Gamera, since Godzilla, Mothra, Anguirus are from Toho, and Gamera is from rival studio Daiei. This book must be on Big Man Japan's bookshelf!
I'm reminded of, in David Gerrold's book about the making of "The Trouble With Tribbles", or maybe in his WORLD OF STAR TREK book, he mentions telling the production designer his script only calls for 3 sets "and some corridor."
The production designer screams, "Corridor? Do you know how much corridor costs PER FOOT?!"
One of the pair is being treated for a broken hand
ingenuity, stupidity, I always get those two confused.
An Anatomical Guide to Monsters, 1967. Text: Shoji Otomo. Illustrator: Shogo Endo.
I see Gamera, Mothra (larva stage), Godzilla, and...
..who's the fellow with the spikes on his head and the Rhino horn?
The production designer screams, "Corridor? Do you know how much corridor costs PER FOOT?!"
