I should also mention that, for that post above, there was a person in the comments who said that this book was pretty much outdated when it was first published. It was laughed at even then, so it's okay to laugh at it now.
If you read the article, it also mentions outdated science books, misfiled books, and books that are obviously peddling for a company. It's not all sexist, period-piece material.
It's less that they're not all that bad of a company (not the evil, crippling crap-machine people make it out to be), but this EULA is just ridiculous. It's obvious they're just trying to not be sued, but they don't seem to realize that not everyone will actually use their site to follow their feed. It's basically a waste of words, space, and lawyers.
That said, it's probably there to cover their ass if someone tries to sue them for any reason involving their feed. There are people who would try, so they're probably just betting on it.
This is non sequitur, but with the text in front of it, the Neatorama space guy looks vaguely like a Cyberman from 'Doctor Who'. Thought everyone should know.
That rescuer has to be one of the bravest people I've seen. Imagine standing on a ledge on the 8th floor, secured only by a cord? It's farther down than it looks in the pic.
Amazingly, she's apparently driven it consistently. That adds up to an average of 12000 miles a year, which is a fairly decent number if she doesn't go on too many road trips.
"Each mount is different due to the time of year the squirrel is harvested."
Um, what? Harvested? *shudder* Thanks for the image. I just imagined rows and rows of squirrels being plucked when they're ripe, like corn. Squirrel farms.
I may just sound like a fangirl, but I personally think that the Doctor Who theme is one that won't die. They've essentially used the same theme (minus a time in the 80's) since 1963. Really. Listen to an early clip first, then one from the 70's, and finally the one from the new ones. Little change. Years and years of having the theme pounded into your head kind of forces it to stick in your head forever.
(Little bit of trivia: it was the first television theme in the world that entirely consisted of electronic music.)
Hopefully something like this will make Mac users more aware of the dangers out there. I use one myself, and I hate how the only anti-virus software for them are ones that only protect against app-specific malicious software (eg, Microsoft Office). Talk about a false sense of security. Right now, Macs are like the yummy, yummy rabbits of the computing world.
They probably coated it with something. I read about using cardboard as furniture (info here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Cardboard-shelf-for-groceries/), so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to make a complete office out of that.
I love that, BTW. I think I may consider doing something like that for my next apartment. All full wall of bookcase makes me drool.
Food stamps are $175 a month. For two people, that comes out to $87 a week. According to my friend who's on them, it's very easy to keep within that as long as you buy fresh. No processed foods (which we're not supposed to have, anyway) and you're good.

I personally find myself better able to work at night. I'm most awake the second half of my day, and it's so much quieter at 1am than 1pm.
